Cookie Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

This policy explains what cookies are, which ones this website uses, and how you can manage them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They help the site function properly, remember your preferences, and give us a general understanding of how visitors use the site.

2. How we use cookies

When you first visit our website, you’ll see a cookie notice letting you know that cookies are in use. This notice is currently informational — it lets you know cookies are being used, but browsing the site (including before or without clicking the notice) may still result in cookies being set, including the analytics cookies described in section 3.

We’re in the process of moving to a consent-based system, where non-essential cookies (such as analytics) will only be set once you’ve actively agreed to them. Until that’s in place, please see section 5 below for how to control cookies yourself via your browser.

3. The cookies we use

Essential cookies Always on

These are necessary for the website to work properly — for example, keeping the site secure, remembering that you’ve seen our cookie notice, and supporting features like our postcode checker and coverage map. The site won’t function correctly without these, so they can’t be switched off.

Analytics cookies Loads on visit

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website — for example, which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and which areas of the site are most useful. This helps us improve the site and the information we provide. These cookies collect information anonymously and don’t identify you personally. At present, this cookie may be set as soon as you visit the site, rather than only after you’ve agreed to it — see section 2.

Advertising cookies Loads on visit, if active

If we run online advertising (such as Google Ads), cookies may be used to measure how effective our campaigns are and to avoid showing you the same adverts repeatedly. These cookies may be set by Google as part of that advertising activity, and — like our analytics cookies — may currently load automatically rather than only after consent.

4. Third-party cookies

Some cookies on our site are set by third-party services we use, rather than by us directly. This currently includes Google, for Analytics (and Google Ads, where applicable). These providers may also set cookies of their own in line with their own privacy and cookie policies.

5. Managing your cookie preferences

You can manage cookies in a couple of ways:

  • Our cookie notice — shown when you first visit the site, letting you know cookies are in use. This currently acts as a notice rather than a preference tool, so it doesn’t yet let you switch individual categories on or off.
  • Your browser settings — this is currently the most effective way to control cookies. Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies, either for all sites or for specific ones. Check your browser’s help section for instructions, as this varies by browser and device.

Please note that blocking or deleting some cookies may affect how parts of the site work, such as the coverage checker or postcode lookup.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or legal requirements. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
